Mavericks Send Harrison Barnes to Kings in 3-Player Deal

With less than 24 hours away from the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, the Sacramento Kings acquired a major player in their playoff hunt. On Wednesday, February 6, the Kings acquired F Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for F Zach Randolph and G Justin Jackson. Barnes actually found out about the trade while he was playing in the Mavericks’ 99-93 victory vs. Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Barnes will hit free agency in Summer 2020, while Randolph will become a free agent in July 2019. Jackson will not become a free agent until Summer 2021.

Barnes took to Twitter later on Wednesday to thank owner Mark Cuban and the Mavericks. Meanwhile, Lakers star LeBron James took issue with Harrison Barnes being traded mid-game. On Wednesday, James said on Instagram that while he understands the business part of the deal, he believes any team who trades a really good player mid-game has no clue.
